This illustration was made for the independent magazine LeftCultures which uses a mixture of articles and illustration to push a more socialist leaning viewpoint. My illustration was created to compliment Rachel Collett's article talking about being influenced by the words of William Morris who is better known for his wallpaper and furniture designs during the Arts and Crafts movement.
Morris was a massive supporter of socialism and wrote many books on the matter but one in particular can be described as being more H. G. Wells than from someone who designs wallpaper as the titled News from Nowhere is about a time traveling victorian who travels to 1950s Britain and witnesses a socialist utopian society and what could be a more equal and diverse landscape.
